Android never sleeps. And as we prove time and time again, any month is a good month for discovering new game releases on the platform. February came with beautiful JRPGs, classic strategy, portable multiplayer action, and Pixel Art. In other words, a little something for everyone.
FINAL BLADE
For a semi-automatic combat JRPG to work, it needs to be visually attractive enough to be enjoyable even just to look at it. Final Blade is beautiful and it has you recruit over 300 mercenaries that will make up your team of heroes as you try to win combats. [Download]
Kill Will
When you have a game that could be defined as a paid assassin simulator, opting for low-poly style graphics is a good solution to help make it a little less aggressive. Kill Will has you complete all different missions in which your objective is always based around killing your objective from a distance. This can mean looking for your victim in a sort of gruesome Where’s Wally situation, or shooting at armed enemies who are ready and willing to return fire. [Download]
LYN: The Lightbringer
Just like the aforementioned Final Blade, Lyn: The Lightbringer plays in the same league as titles required to surprise graphically in order to catch players’ attention. There’s a good reason its graphics are brought to us by Jeong Juno, a reputable South Korean artist whose work includes the emblematic designs of Lineage 2. Talk about a shining resume. [Download]
AxE: Alliance vs Empire
The new MMORGP from NEXON is now available worldwide, bringing us an enormous open world in line with the best of the genre in its Asian line. In addition to its extension and similarities to post-Lineage PC titles, it stands out for its emphasis on the PvP mode with battles for 150 players and different cooperative challenges. Here’s our review in the blog. [Download]
Rogue Agents
It’s hard for a third-person shooter to make sense on Android, but of course, Rogue Agents manages to do so thanks to its animations and interaction with the environment, letting you perch on ledges and use covers as needed. Imagine something similar to a pocket-sized multiplayer Uncharted. Minus the distances, of course. [Download]
Snow Kids
Neutronized are experts in creating games with retro looks and the best 8-bit style gameplay. Snow Kids is a great platformer where your character can throw snowballs to defeat the enemies. Platforms all over the place, adorable pixelated 2D graphics, and controls that work great for a portable title. Less is more, just like we explained in our review. [Download]
Snow Kids is one of the best platformers that exists on Android
Hexonia
The strategic saga Civilization set a standard with its gameplay that makes you want to play “just one more time.” Few Android games have successfully made this gameplay their own, but Hexonia is one of them. Not only does the game have a simple interface that lets it easily develop using complex mechanics from your smartphone, but best of all, the rounds can be played in less than 20 minutes. [Download]
Rebel Inc.
Plague Inc. is a outstanding game — so much so that we’re basically obligated to mention the newest release from its creators. In Rebel Inc. it’s your mission to lead a nation in their attempt to prosper on a complicated geopolitical map. Whether its by being a gentle leader or using an iron fist to rule the nation, the destiny of the world is in your hands. Here’s our review of it, if you want to know more. [Download]
BitLife
The so-called LifeSims have been popping up all over the place recently on Android. In BitLife you have to make the most important decisions of an entire life in just a few minutes and see the consequences of your actions. Don’t expect spectacular graphics, just simple menus that remind you of how fleeting life is and how easy it is to go astray. Here’s more information. [Download]
Tacticool
A multiplayer action game that gets right to the point, offering 5vs5 combats in isometric perspective with great 3D graphics and accessible controls given the nature of the game. [Download]
