Fortnite has become an undisputed success, a free game that is already known around the world. Epic Gamesbattle royale has millions of players and, to this day, continues to grow thanks to the arrival of the video game on more and more platforms. It is also available for mobiles with an adapted version with the same content as on computers and consoles, including seasons and events. If you want to get into the experience, here are five key tips to get you off to a good start.

5 tips and tricks to get better in Fortnite

Choose the right shooting mode

If you are starting to play Fortnite on mobile, we recommend that before anything else, you choose one of the three shooting modes that exist—you could even try them all before opting for one of them. You can choose between automatic shooting, which opens fire as soon as it detects an enemy nearby; shooting with a specific button, which requires you to tap on a button to shoot; or a third system, which allows you to shoot by pressing anywhere on the screen. Any of them is valid as long as it suits you best, so choose carefully.

Play with a gamepad instead of touch controls

Of course, these three shooting modes are designed for touch controls, but our main recommendation is that instead you choose to play Fortnite on mobile with a gamepad. It is an option that was not there from the beginning, but today it is possible to connect a common gamepad via cable or Bluetooth and use it to play this popular battle royale. This way, you will enjoy more precise movements and a much better aim, as well as more control when building structures.

Disable automatic interactions

By default, the mobile version of Fortnite has some automatic interactions enabled that can hurt you during the game. For example, your character can open doors without you having to do anything; this may seem like an advantage, but it can actually work against you when you try to hide from other players, as it will give you away. The function to automatically pick up new weapons is also enabled, which can result in your character exchanging a good-quality weapon for a worse one without you noticing it.

Disable cross-play with other platforms (or enable it to play with friends)

Another setting that is enabled by default is cross-play, a feature that matches you in games with people who are playing on other platforms. If you are worried that those who play on consoles and computers have an advantage over you (which is very likely, considering that they are generally more powerful platforms than smartphones), we recommend you disable this option. Of course, you can enable it when you want to play with your friends if they have Fortnite on other systems, which is also quite useful to progress in the games and reach the final showdown.

Adjust graphics to improve performance

Not all smartphones are the same, and that’s why Fortnite does not work in the same way on all devices. Even so, the game automatically brings a series of graphics options enabled that may not adapt to the specifications of your smartphone; that is why one of our main tips is to take a look at the settings menu and adjust some of the quality options to make it work better on your device. This will give you more fluidity, which in a competitive game is much appreciated.
