The mobile game market already offers a wide selection of FPS games, otherwise known as first-person shooters. However, there’s a new release that has the entire community on the edge of their seats: the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. That said, the game doesn’t even have a release date yet, and it looks like it’s still going to be a while before it’s announced. So while we’re all waiting for its grand appearance, we’d like to recommend another great multiplayer shooter to make the wait a bit more bearable: it’s called Critical Ops (developed by Critical Force) and we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about it.

What is Critical Ops?

Critical Ops is a fast-paced first-person shooter game for mobile devices, an experience that promises to test your reflexes and tactical skills. Based on the thrill of modern warfare, you’ll fight in operations against other players, each controlling an operative agent of an elite force. It’s exclusively multiplayer, free and offers several different game modes.

How to play Critical Ops

Like any other first-person shooter game, in Critical Ops, you’ll use a virtual joystick on the left side of the screen to move your character around as if you were looking through his eyes. Meanwhile, on the right side of the screen, you’ll have the rest of the action buttons to do things like shoot, crouch, reload and jump, as well as the option to rotate the camera to aim at your enemies.

You’ll use these basic controls and gameplay to face off against other players online in settings inspired by the following three game modes:

  • Deathmatch: the classic game mode in which two teams face each other in a time-limited match. The team with the most kills at the end wins.
  • Defuse: a team confrontation mode, with one team having to plant a bomb and the other having to prevent it. In other words, total Counter-Strike style.
  • Gun Game: a team mode in which only one player can be victorious. Each enemy kill unlocks one of 15 possible weapons and the first player to clear the last level wins.

Is it free? Can it be played offline?

Critical Ops is a completely free game, although its free-to-play model implies that during the game, you’ll find systems that will try to encourage you to buy improvements and accessories to customize your agent. Does this mean it’s a pay-to-win? Its developers assure us that the answer to that question is no: Critical Force explains that everything available for purchase is merely superficial and has no influence on the game itself or the ways to play it.

As for playing it offline, Critical Ops doesn’t have any offline modes: all its modes require a good, strong internet connection in order to compete equally with the same conditions as all the other players. In fact, it even has worldwide leaderboards with scores of people from all around the world, just to show how competitive it is.

To do this, you just need to get the .apk file of the game, install it quickly and start playing. It’s easy, fast, simple and 100% free. Below, we’ll tell you how to do it step-by-step:
