Way back in November, the nominees for the first edition of the Mobile Games Awards 2018, the official award ceremony by Pocket Gamer for Android and iOS games, were released. The winners were announced at the official gala on January 23rd, and we’ve listed the results below.
The Mobile Games Awards didn’t attract quite as much media attention as the organizers might have hoped, but at least it’s a step forward for the long term recognition for video gaming on mobile devices. One of the most noteworthy awards of the night was the special Mobile Legend award granted to Kristian Segerstrale for his achievements in the mobile gaming industry. As could be expected from awards for mobile gaming, Supercell won several awards, although others like Game of the Year and People’s Choice were a bit of a surprise. If you’re craving more lists of game awards, check out our list of the best Android games of 2017, which is sure to deliver a surprise or two.
