Just a few days ago we told you about the boom in popularity of this rising instant messaging service. In just one and a half years, LINE is now used at an international level by more than 70 million users, offering new features with each new update that separate it more and more from the competition. In its latest update 3.3.3. for the Android version, they have added two very important features considering the surge and expansion: support for more languages and the ability to login and import your Facebook contacts.
In the LINE official blog special emphasis was placed on the fact that, outside of Asia, Spain and Latin America are becoming the key areas of growth for the software, which is why it became more than obvious that Spanish had to become the next new language to be offered, in addition to the already existent English version.
While the language was one of the barriers in Spain, another is the fact that LINE still can’t compete with services such as Whatsapp because of its standardization and broad user base. To make up for this, LINE now offers the ability to link your account with Facebook, so all your contacts from the famous social network can be imported to the application. This new feature could be key in its expansion.
At the moment, this new update is only for Android, so iOS users will have to wait. LINE has plans to provide stable service in countries where it is just being introduced as the demand grows, which is precisely one of the major challenges that Whatsapp, the leader in the field, has been experiencing.
