Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is one of the hottest games out there right now. This RPG and tactical turn-based combat game set in the popular universe created by George Lucas has attracted millions of players from all around the world to play with the unique combination of well-known characters and strategy.

However, advancing in the game isn’t always a walk in the park. Players often have a hard time figuring out how to earn and spend the game’s two main currencies: credits and crystals. To help you avoid this confusion, we’re going to tell you what each currency is for and how to get them for free.

What are credits and crystals for in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes?

As in practically every single game made for phones, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes includes several currencies you can spend on improving your characters or unlocking new ones. That’s exactly what the two main currencies in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes are for. They’re called credits and crystals.

Credits: what are they for?

Credits are what you’ll use throughout the game to improve your characters’ skills, rarities, equipment, and, most importantly, to pay for their training. By training your characters, you’ll be able to improve their stats. Each training is more expensive than the last for each character.

Crystals: what are they for?

Crystals are the premium currency, or in other words, you can buy them using real money in the game. Crystals can be used to unlock new characters with better stats that will help you complete the toughest missions, and you can also exchange them for other objects (including credits) in the game.

Credits

If you’ve already been playing Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, you’ve surely realized that earning credits is not very complicated. It’s an essential resource that can be earned relatively easily in the game. You’ll earn credits for each combat you finish, as well as by completing achievements and opening cards.

Since they’re so easy to get right from the beginning of the game, we recommend spending them early on to buy improvements for your characters to make sure you don’t get stuck trying to complete nearly impossible missions after playing for just a few hours.

Crystals

Crystals, on the other hand, are quite different from credits. Since they’re a premium currency, the game isn’t as generous when giving them to players without making them pay up. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get them for free. The best way to do so is by playing. Some battles offer crystals as a reward (and you can see this before starting the fight), so it’s a good idea to try to win these ones. Aside from this method, you can also get them by completing certain achievements. It’s definitely a good idea to take a look at them to get as many crystals as possible.

Beyond all this, there’s one more way to add a few extra crystals to your total. Connect your Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes account to your Facebook. This may not reward you with a ton of crystals, but it can be a good way to earn those last couple of crystals you need to buy something you want.

While we recommended spending your credits ASAP in the game, the recommendation for crystals is the complete opposite. As you advance in the game, you’ll need them to buy characters to make the most challenging battles easier (or at least give you a chance at winning). So make sure you save as many as possible to spend them when needed.
