On a functional level, it’ll be practically the same as before: ad-free browsing through the platform, the option to download videos to watch them offline, and background playing. Plus, you’ll have access to an exclusive catalog of videos that includes original series and movies. The example given in the ad is Cobra Kai, the sequel to the Karate Kid with the original actors and so far, it’s proving to be a success. In addition, the package includes all the services of YouTube Music, which we’ll explain below.

YouTube Music: the new competition for Spotify etc.?

YouTube Music brings an updated app and web client that offers access to an enormous music database. Keeping in mind the enormous number of illegal music platforms that drink from the YouTube fountain, it makes sense to channel all this potential into its own service. As far as features go, you have all the same as the premium video service including no ads, downloadable content, and background playback. Although the price is slightly less than it is for YouTube Premium.
