The latest version of WhatsApp for Android (2.16.293) has brought a new feature to edit and send pictures from inside the app itself. From now on you can edit images and add all sorts of stickers, freehand doodles, and short captions, Snapchat-style, just like on other apps like Telegram that rolled these out as standard features ages ago.
At the moment you can only edit pics taken with WhatsApp’s built-in camera. After taking the photo you’ll see new icons at the top of the window alongside the resize option. You can change the colors of your drawings and captions, as well as move, rotate, and resize anything you put on the photo, including the stickers.
These changes come on top of other useful recent ones like the options to ping contacts within group chats using an @ symbol and to send URLs to add new members to your chats.
