Free Fire is one of the world’s most played and successful battle royale games. Its casual and entertaining style has managed to make the game a place among the true titans of the video game world. Consequently, Garena’s game has several versions so that all types of users can enjoy the title. In this post, we tell you which are the versions and which one is the best to enjoy the game.

Which version of Free Fire to choose?

There are three versions of Free Fire. The first of these is the original, called “Battlegrounds”. Afterwards, a version with improved graphics was launched— called “MAX”— and finally, the last of all is “Advance”— to which the content arrives in beta form.

The MAX version is the most recommended since it has improved graphics and is much more enjoyable than the others due to its improved stability. In addition, if you decide to play this title on PC, it is the most recommendable since, on large screens, it is the one that allows a more optimal display.

If your mobile device is old, it is best to play Free Fire Battlegrounds as it has fewer graphic effects.

It is important to note that both MAX and Battlegrounds are the same game, so absolutely everything is shared— progress, maps, missions, and all content. The only differences are visuals.

Free Fire: Battlegrounds— the original game

This version is the original one of Free Fire. Hence, it has all the features of the title but a somewhat inferior graphical appearance and questionable sound quality. This is essentially the game’s core experience, but more and more players have been moving to the MAX version as it is not overly demanding in terms of requirements but looks vastly superior.

Some users prefer this version because it has fewer visual effects, making it easier to find and kill enemies. However, Free Fire MAX is much more immersive.

Minimum and recommended requirements

Virtually any mobile device of the last 8 or 9 years can work perfectly well with this title version. However, if you have doubts about whether your mobile device can handle it, here are the minimum and recommended requirements.

For Android:

  • Processor: MediaTek MT6737M quad-core (1.1GHz)
  • Graphics renderer: Mali 400
  • RAM: 1GB minimum, 2GB recommended
  • Storage: 8GB minimum storage
  • Operating system: Android 4.1 or higher

For iPhone:

  • Processor: Apple ARM V8
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 8GB minimum storage
  • Operating system: iOS 9.0

It is the optimal version of the game and the most spectacular to watch. Improved graphics make it much more immersive. But there is also a substantial improvement in the sound, allowing the action to “envelop” you— generating a much more pleasant sensation when dealing with your enemies on the battlefield. The improvements are:

  • Increased frame rate per second. The original game only allows 30FPS, while the MAX version of Free Fire extends this to 90FPS— making the experience much smoother. This can also make a big difference when facing your rivals.
  • Obvious graphic improvements. This version improves the quality of the textures allowing you to enjoy them in HD. It doesn’t stop there, as it also enhances the effects. Map fog, fire, ice, and weapon effects look much more realistic, allowing for great immersion.
  • The sound is also improved. Originally it was one of the worst things about Free Fire, as the effects were really artificial. This has changed, as the game becomes much more immersive, thanks to more realistic, high-definition sound.
  • Minor changes to the interface to make it more visual and prettier.

Minimum and recommended requirements for Free Fire MAX

Free Fire MAX’s minimum requirements are higher than its lighter counterpart. However, the game is not particularly demanding and can run on mid-range and low-end mobile devices without any problems.

Android requirements:

  • Processor: 64 Bits with a core frequency of 1.8 to 2.0 GHz from Snapdragon 600 series or similar
  • RAM: 2GB to be able to play it well, 4GB recommended to play it in maximum quality
  • Storage size: variable but minimum 1.3GB
  • Operating system: Android 7.0 or higher

iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch requirements:

  • Processor: Apple A9 dual-core 1.8GHz

Free Fire Advance— to be the first one to enjoy the new features

This one is the beta version of the game. First, the improvements are implemented here, and then they are released in their final version with the bugs that have been fixed. It is not a highly recommended version if you don’t want to keep up with the latest in competitive play. In addition, it is difficult to access as you need an invitation code.
