Apps that promote themselves with slogans like “How to watch live soccer for free”, and other legally questionable activities are all over the place within the Android market. Today, the mother off all user distributed, live streaming apps is Wiseplay. It’s a free Android app that lets you watch live TV, movies, or TV shows remotely through external URLs you can even stream torrents while they’re downloading.
How does Wiseplay work?
Once you’ve installed the app, all you’ll need is an efficient multimedia player that can handle a large variety of video files like: aac, ac3, amr, divx, h263, h264, hevc, mpeg2, mpeg4, speex, vp9, wmv, avi, asf, divx, flv, m3u8, mkv, mov, mp3, mp4, mpg, mts, ogg, rm, rmvb and ts.
All of this content can be played from your device, and connected to external screens to play via DLNA or Chromecast. If you thought that was useful, check this out. You can even insert external channel lists made by other users.
Sports, movies, music, and online TV.
Wiseplay has its own system to create playlists for online content that’s easy to share and organize. Type Wiseplay into Google and you’ll quickly come across tons of pages and message boards where people share their links out of sheer kindness and goodwill. All you’ll have to do is copy and paste their links into the app and you’ll automatically add themed lists to access content. Whether they’re TV shows, cable channels, or TV from a foreign country, you’ll get to watch whatever you want without having to watch it live if you don’t want to.
These lists basically just redirections to online video streaming services that other users have so that the rest of us can enjoy watching freely, similar to the now extinct Roja Directa. Which is gone but not dead due to the usual Hydra effect in this kind of services. When using Wiseplay, remember to update your video lists from time to time because they’ll become out of date. All you’ll have to do is run a search on google for websites that post links for Wiseplay, which is easy enough although many of the video lists can be updated from within the app. Remember to update them every so often because otherwise a message will appear that the content is no longer available.
Using your imagination, you’ll find tons ways to use Wiseplay. It works perfectly with Android emulators for PCs like Bluestacks and Droid4x. So you can use all of its content on desktop systems. If what you’re looking for is a way to stream videos to an external screen, the best option is connecting to Chromecast.
If that still wasn’t enough, playing any video from a torrent link is as easy as pasting the torrent URL into the app. Another bonus is adding subtitles which is easy, just include another subtitle file URL, and make sure it’s linked to the torrent so you can watch them simultaneously while viewing. All of this while your torrent is still being downloaded.
