It wasn’t too long ago at E3 2018, that we first heard about the existence of The Elder Scrolls: Blades, a new video game for mobile devices inspired by the well-loved Bethesda saga. From there, at a recent Apple Keynote, more details were released on potential gameplay for the new Bethesda title. After briefly postponing its launch from 2018 to 2019, it’s finally available in an early access release and is ready for you to download and play as long as you pre-register via Google Play.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades — a staggered launch

Right now, in order to avoid bogging dowdn servers during the open beta phase of the game — like the mishap with Call of Duty Mobile following its Australia launch; Bethesda has chosen to slowly scale its official launch, opening early access progressively to registered users. A couple of players on Reddit, have already confirmed that it’s open to play from Canada, but we’re not 100% sure if that’s due to a regional geo-lock put in place or simply decided on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Bethesda announces The Elder Scrolls: Blades for Android

As was explained from within the app itself after a very brief intro, you’ll want to activate your notifications bar on your smartphone in order to get pinged when it’s your turn to play. We’re privy to this info thanks to a quick run through the official FAQ that has plenty of other handy tips.

List of compatible devices

In terms of availability, it’ll soon enough roll out on Android and iOS, but for now the game is limited to a specific list of devices that are fully compatible. Just like for Fortnite on Android, which started out with a short list of compatible smartphones and is adding on new models via regularly scheduled updates.
