The blocks started out being temporary, but Niantic Labs has now cracked down on people who use tricks and cheats in Pokémon GO to the point of announcing permanent bans in the app. There are lots of reasons you might get your account suspended – and obviously in certain cases you might not really deserve it. Luckily, there’s a form you can use to ask for your account back.
The announcement on the official Pokémon GO blog leaves things quite clear:
After reviewing many reports of in-game cheating, we have started taking action against players taking unfair advantage of and abusing Pokémon GO. … If our system has determined that you cheated, then you will receive an email stating that your account has been terminated.
The reasons this might happen are myriad: using unofficial alt apps, using GPS spoofing to cover huge distances in no time, collecting an excessive number of pokémons, going through lots of pokéstops on the same day, or using the app on several different devices under the same IP are the main ones.
Due to this situation lots of developers of illicit apps have abandoned their projects, whether they’ve received injunctions from Niantic or “preventively” opted to do so on their own. Be that as it may, if you’re one of those affected by the mass bans you can use THIS FORM to request account restoration, adding a text description and supporting files to show that the ban is undeserved. That said, if you’ve really gone crazy with the cheats, you can’t hope for much more than that the Niantic tech support team will take pity on you.
