There are many many video players on Android, but not all of them offer as many features as PLAYit in virtually any video or audio format.
Cell phones are coming with increasingly larger and higher resolution screens —yet another incentive to consume media content on them. This is why it is so important to have a good video player.
PLAYit, developed by PLAYIT TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD., allows you to play any videos you may have locally stored, in any format, and even in high resolution. It not only serves as a music player, but also plays videos from different platforms directly from the app. Let’s have a look at it!
The most powerful video player
Although in this post we are going to see PLAYit’s features on Android, you should know that this app is cross-platform, so you can also use it on iOS and Windows PCs.
That said, let’s start with the features. PLAYit supports AVI, 3GP, M4V, MOV, MP4, WMV, RMVB, MKV, TS, MPG or FLV video formats. In terms of resolution, it can play up to 4K videos.
One of its main strengths over other Android players is that it automatically detects the video files you have on your smartphone (including microSD cards) and adds them without you having to do anything.
Plus, it offers a wide range of viewing options within the app. You can change the screen aspect ratio to view content in 4:3, 16:9, 18:9 or fit the screen width. Moreover, you can rotate the video 90º or 180º degrees.
This player also includes a floating window option so you can play any video while using other apps. Alternatively, you can watch them on full screen if you prefer.
PLAYit plays in the background
Another very helpful option for day-to-day use is the possibility of playing audio in the background, thus letting you listen to the video’s audio without having it displayed on the screen. You can also separate the audio from the video and save it in MP3 format among your cell’s files.
Another difference between PLAYit and other players is its gesture control system, which allows you to change the playback speed, brightness and volume by simply swiping your finger on the screen.
Finally, from the options menu, you can use a cropping tool to take screenshots of the video at any time you want. It works great and is quite accurate, so you will have no problem capturing the exact moment you select. Once the screenshot is taken, it will be automatically saved in your smartphone.
A cool audio player
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, PLAYit is also an amazing audio player. As with videos, the player automatically recognizes audio files and adds them to its library. It features a system that detects when you remove your headphones and pauses the playback, as well as a sleep timer that you can set to turn the app off whenever you need it.
And as if that weren’t enough, the player comes with a built-in search engine that you can use to search for videos from third-party platforms, like YouTube, Twitter or Instagram, and play them within the app. You need to be connected to the Internet to use it, and although it supports gesture controls, some features are not available —for example, separating the audio from the video and saving it to MP3 or taking screenshots.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that it allows you to download torrents by simply pasting the magnet, HTTP or URL link you want.
