Hungry Dragon is an addictive and fast-paced arcade game developed by Ubisoft. In it you control a hungry dragon in an open-world environment: your goal is to eat anything and everything that comes your way—if you don’t, you will die of hunger. The more you play, the more you’ll level up, which will make it possible to get better dragons until you finally reach the legendary ones. If you want to know how to get these powerful beasts, then read on. We’ll explain it all below.

What are legendary dragons?

In Hungry Dragon there are several different types of dragons, with their sizes ranging from XS to XXL: the bigger the dragon, the more powerful it is. As the category of your dragon increases, the number of pets you can carry and the Fire Rush multiplier are also expanded, together with new edible creatures and new destructible objects.

That said, the legendary dragons go one step further: they are the most powerful in Hungry Dragon, so much so that they even have a category for themselves (represented by a star with three exclamation points in the game menu). Not only can they handle anything, but they also have special abilities, such as Eelectrozoa’s electric beam or Icebreaker’s freezing power.

The list of all legendary dragons in Hungry Dragon

The list of legendary dragons in Hungry Dragon is growing as time goes by, as Ubisoft releases new creatures from time to time. Currently, there are a total of five legendary dragons. They are as follows:

  • Eelectrozoa
  • Mechamuncher
  • Armordillo
  • Icebreaker
  • T-Wreks

How to unlock legendary dragons

Legendary dragons used to appear only in the Witch’s Cauldron, a section of the Hungry Dragon menu that has now disappeared. Now they have their own section in the main menu, right after the XXL dragons. The way to get them has also changed: to get one of these majestic creatures you’ll have to fulfil certain requirements before you can use your gems to buy them.

The first requirement to be able to get legendary dragons is to have unlocked Blaze, the first size L dragon. Once you’ve reached this category, you’ll see the price of all the legendary dragons, although you’ll still be so far away that they’ll be too expensive. You’ll have to continue advancing as usual. Once you’ve unlocked all the dragons, right up to the last of the XXL size, you’ll be able to buy legendary dragons for 100 gems each.

Unlike the rest of the dragons, the legendary dragons cannot be bought with coins: you can only get them by paying gems. That’s why you’ll need to have a few tricks up your sleeve in order to get more gems in Hungry Dragons. For example, looking for the flying pig on each level, or farming the ones that appear every few minutes in the turbo hoops that allow you to go up into space (yes, the ones that appear to the left of the beginning of the map).

Can legendary dragons be leveled up?

As with normal dragons, legendary dragons have their own upgrade levels. The difference is that as you level up these powerful creatures, they also gain new enhanced abilities. For example, the legendary dragon Mechamuncher gets missiles at level 6, bombs at level 17 and a drone with a minigun at level 28. Also, the new legendary dragon T-Wreks has level upgrades: an improved jetpack, more stomp power and the ability to stun enemies. The way to level up these dragons is the same as with the rest: by playing, completing missions and eating anything and everything that comes your way.
