Twitter has just released a new version of its app for iOS and Android. Android received the greatest amount of upgrades as it was finally updated to the Holo interface, which incorporates a simple and clear appearance, in line with the Android 4.0 operating system. Also, tweets that are sent from third-party apps have been enriched with new options, and swipe gestures have been modified for easier movement throughout the application.

Greater clarity and wider spaces is what you initially will observe on the new interface, although more profound changes have been made to the application’s structure. Now you can move from the Timeline tab to the notification, profile, or search tab by swiping horizontally across the screen. So, if you want to access the Reply options or share from within the timeline itself, now you just have to press and hold on the corresponding tweet.

Additionally, tweets from third-party applications have been enriched. So, for example, if you read a tweet from an update sent from Foursquare, there will be a link within the tweet itself that will take you to said application. It goes the same for tweets coming from or being sent to any other third-party service.
