If you don’t use reddit then you simply don’t know what’s going on on the Internet. I’m serious. Although recently an official client has finally appeared and there are loads of other alternatives to browse the service, there’s still a lot of room for maneuver when it comes to using reddit on your smartphone. Slide for reddit is another client that, despite still being in beta phase, stands out as one of the best in its field for both its interface and exclusive features, and is under constant update.

To start, its interface strongly embraces the popular Material Design, even making you forget for a moment how ugly the original client is. Also, swiping lets you quickly jump between subreddits, posts, and multimedia content. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of its much-appreciated features, allowing, among other things, the caching of full subreddits to view offline, carrying out transitions with Chrome Custom Tabs when opening links, or the use of fully customizable color schemes, among other features.

The most recently released version (v4.6) reduces RAM usage during execution to 60 from 70 megabytes and the size of the app itself to less than 10 megabytes, while also improving the performance and problems with scroll lag in certain sections (among many other improvements). reddit really needs to get on the ball to bring the official app up to this level.
